01 — The story

Dan grew up in Peabody, framing houses with his uncle on summer breaks. After a decade working for other contractors, he noticed the same thing on every job: the best work came from the same few hands, and the worst came from whoever was cheapest that week.

In 2010 he bought a used truck and a table saw and started Harbor Stone out of a Salem garage. The first rule was simple: the people who finish your house work for us. No stranger shows up on day thirty to rush the tile.

Fifteen years and more than 500 projects later, the rule is the same. Maria runs the office and the schedule. Tom Alvarez runs the sites. The yard has more trucks, but you’ll still hear Dan on the phone the same afternoon you call.

Most of our work comes from neighbors, and most of our neighbors are within twenty minutes of the shop. We like it that way. You can drive past the last thing we built.

02 — How we work

Three promises, in writing.

  1. 01

    Same crew, every day

You’ll know the faces on your job by day two. No rotating subcontractors, no mystery crews.

  2. 02

    Every line itemized

Our quotes list materials, labor and allowances separately. If something changes, you see it before we do it.

  3. 03

    Clean at 4:30

Floors protected, dust contained, tools put away. You live in the house while we work, so we treat it that way.
